Once again we are pleased to invite our Essex school governors and clerks to our annual Conference. The theme this year is Accountability and we will be offering a variety of workshops relating to this topic.

Our opening speakers this year are Terry Reynolds, Director of School Improvement & Early Years and Joan Hewitt, Advisory Inspector, School Improvement & Early Years. They will be focusing on accountability through the new Ofsted Framework.

To close this year.s conference we have some members from Team Essex.s 2012 Olympic Ambassadors who will be focusing on their aspirations and participation in the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The conference is held in appreciation of the important voluntary work undertaken by school governors and to extend communication between school governors and the Local Authority.

To support this aim we will be offering governors and clerks the opportunity to network with other governors, executive members of the Essex School Governors. Association and a wide range of Local Authority staff. In addition there will be the opportunity to share information and experiences and explore common issues.
