In conjunction with Essex LA, ASHE & EPHA our annual conference was held at Hylands Park to a very well attended audience of 102 from across the county.

Entertainment by way of prelude and interval music was provided by the Essex Youth Jazz Band greatly appreciated by one & all.

Our inspirational speaker was Steve Cummings Director Sportif Pro Cycling outlining the challenges overcome by pro cyclists in their quest for excellence and how lessons could be taken into the world of education.

Our educational speaker was Peter Stonier Senior HMI OFSTED who gave attendees food for thought by outlining the recent changes to the school inspection regime followed by a brief Q&A session. The presentation was greatly appreciated by all at a time of great uncertainty across all schools.

Next came a Q&A session for our panel Cllr Tony Ball ( Essex CC), Claire Kershaw ( Dir Education Essex LA) & Katherine Robertson ( NGA) chaired by Harriet Knights Phillips ( Chr EPHA). The session highlighted deep concerns over SEND provision and the ongoing battle with ever increasing demands on school budgets.
